California Company Adds Tracking to Reefers and Dry Vans via GE's VeriWiseBuena Park, Calif., Nov. 22, 2006-ServiceCraft, a full-service transportation management provider, has added the VeriWise asset intelligence system to its eight-unit refrigerated trailer fleet, in addition to its 200-unit fleet of dry vans. It purchased VeriWise from GE's Trailer Fleet Services business. According to Aaron Olin, ServiceCraft's director of transportation services, the decision to add asset tracking to their fleet of reefer and dry van units was based on economics, and GE's reputation. "The costs for adding trailer tracking to a fleet of our size, is about half of what it was several years ago," said Olin. "We've been renting and leasing trailers from GE for almost 20 years. When it made financial sense for us to add trailer tracking, we selected VeriWise over other asset intelligence solutions, because of our positive experience with the company and GE's reputation for understanding the needs of the transportation logistics industry. This system allows us to respond faster to our customers, while at the same time making trailer utilization simpler to manage." "The VeriWise system automatically polls our fleet every morning at 6 o'clock and pinpoints the exact location of each trailer between our California and Texas facilities, or at customer locations across the country," added Olin. "It can even determine within 100 feet the location of trailers parked outside our facility that covers nearly half a million square feet here in California." Veriwise is supported by GE's Asset Intelligence division. More information about VeriWise Asset Intelligence can be found at www.trailerservices.com .
