GE pledges 10,000 of its semi-truck rental trailers to carry ATA's "Good Stuff, Trucks Bring It" campaign decals

NASHVILLE, TENN., MAY 1, 2006 -- GE's Trailer Fleet Services business has announced a pledge to have 10,000 of its rental trailers carry "Good Stuff, Trucks Bring It" decals to support the image campaign of the American Trucking Associations.

"Improving the image of the industry has been identified as its most critical need, one which can attract new drivers, improve the regulatory environment, and influence the driving public," said Bob Williams, Senior Vice President of North American Sales for the GE unit. "This is a terrific way to use our trailer fleet to help our customers and the ATA."

Bill Graves, President and CEO of the American Trucking Associations, noted, "This major support of the trucking industry's 'Good Stuff, Trucks Bring It' image campaign by GE's Trailer Fleet Services business is exactly what we need to keep the momentum going-even if we have to do it one truck at a time, one trailer at a time, one driver at a time. We're going to let America know that we're good people doing good work, and GE's assistance is helping us make that happen in a big way."

The ATA notes that according to research, over the course of one year, just one trailer with "Good Stuff -- Trucks Bring It" graphics records nearly ten million media impressions. Multiply that by 10,000 and the result is dramatic.

The ATA's "Good Stuff" campaign includes high-visibility tools to contemporize the way the trucking industry is perceived. The message is intended to be inviting and accessible, reminding people that trucks carry more than just boxes, crates and cartonsthey also have the latest stuff: The DaVinci Code novel from Amazon.com, the Gore-Tex jacket from Cabela's, or the walnut chair from Crate & Barrel. "Good Stuff -- Trucks Bring It" helps the public "connect the dots" by linking trucks with all the things they own.

GE said it will have its Trailer Fleet Services mechanics begin affixing the one-foot square two-color decals over the summer, targeting first the most active dry van assets at its 100 branch locations. It will also request that Wabash National pre-install the decals on new units GE purchases for its fleet, part of an existing program at the manufacturer in which Wabash installs the decals free of charge.
