GE waives rebills for trailer repairs under $25

NASHVILLE, TENN., May 1, 2006 - GE'S Trailer Fleet Services business has announced it will waive damage rebills under $25 for individual rental trailers that are returned requiring minor repairs, the charges for which are the sole item on a bill. The action was taken upon recommendation of GE's Client Advisory Board (CAB), a panel of leading trucking firm executives. Customers of Trailer Fleet Services will notice the change on rebills dated after April 10, 2006.

"Our CAB has suggested to us that waiving the bill for these minor repairs will advance our shared goal of a more streamlined trailer turn-in process," explained Bob Williams, senior vice president of North American Sales for Trailer Fleet Services. "This also returns the repaired trailer promptly to rental service, which is critical in this period of high demand. Our GE mechanics can now make these minor repairs and quickly return the asset to a green tag status without waiting for damage rebill approval."

Typical waived repairs may include refastening ply and scuff liners, replacing divider strips, straightening the bottom rail, replacing the reefer unit top rail, and re-sealing the roof (interior and exterior). Treadwear billing and Mobile Maintenance services are not included.

GE's CAB creates an opportunity for top executives from leading commercial carriers to meet regularly with key leadership from Trailer Fleet Services, and offer updates about the climate of the industry and what type of services and solutions from GE would provide the best value to their individual companies.

The companies represented on the CAB are: Jet Express, Dayton, Ohio; Jacobson Transportation, Des Moines, Iowa; Schneider National, Inc., Green Bay, Wisconsin; National Freight, Vineland, New Jersey; Pinole Valley Transport, Ontario, California; Freight Masters Systems, Indianapolis, Indiana; Landstar, Jacksonville, Florida; PepsiCo, Purchase, N.Y.; and Fleetmaster Express, Inc., Roanoke, Virginia.
